RE: Athletics Report

Fall Sports

HS Football

  1. Varsity record (2-2 league, 3-4 overall)
    1. We lost a tough one at Washougal in the crazy weather that moved us from a 3-way tie for first to most likely out of the playoffs (at 4th).
    2. Currently 4th in league.
  2. JV record (1-2 league, 3-4 overall).

HS Volleyball

  1. Varsity record (7-2 league, 8-3 overall).
    1. Currently 3rd in league
  2. JV record (4-5 league, 6-5 overall).

HS Girls’ Soccer

  1. Varsity record (1-8 league, 3-9-1 overall)
    1. This is a young team that’s taken a lot of lumps this year. They have shown consistent growth and I’m really impressed with their perseverance – they continue to work hard and improve daily.
  2. JV record (2-7 league, 2-9-1 overall)

HS Cross Country

  1. League Championships are this week at Lake Sacajawea.
  2. District Championships are Saturday, Oct. 29 at Lewis River Golf Course
    1. Top 21 runners qualify for state… we are projecting a few to make the cut.

HS Boys’ Golf

  1. Rough season for the young Beavers, but the future looks promising. Districts start October 19th. Seniors Nolan Autrey and Adam Shaw will lead the team into post season.

HS Dance and Cheer

  1. Both have done multiple performances at the football games this fall. I continue to hear great things from the community about both programs.

Winter Sports begin on Monday, November 14th.

  1. Remember that WHS Sports can be followed on Facebook (woodland high school athletics) and Twitter (whsbeavers).
