Our district’s participation at the career fair sponsored by Goodwill and held at Woodland High School was a great success, especially for KWRL. Many people stopped by just to check out the booth and then stayed to hear Shannon Barnett talk about the bus driving opportunities available at KWRL. In the current class for drivers, three came from the career fair.

Hiring substitutes is an ongoing priority and we have hired 30 substitutes since the end of last school year. Fingerprints continue to be out two weeks for clearance so quickly communicating to newly hired employees and substitutes the need to get fingerprinted and checking for clearance is an important part of the process. Once they are hired we do an intentional job of processing them and recently added FAQ sheets to the process which have been well received.

The administrators approved the new evaluations for classified employees. These evaluations allow employees to self-evaluate before being evaluated by their administrator which will help open up the dialogue about what the employee sees they are succeeding at and what they see as areas needing growth.
