Replacement Operations and Maintenance Levy Timeline and Process Discussion
Our current levy authorization expires at the end of 2017. If the board wishes to request renewal of the levy by voters that request should come in the spring of 2017.
In order for this to occur there are several key dates that the board should consider:
- Levy Election Date: February 14, 2017
- Levy Ballots Mailed: January 25, 2017 (est.)
- Resolution Filing Deadline: December 16, 2016
- Resolution Approval Date: November 28, 2016
- Development of Board Resolution by Legal Counsel: November 15-21, 2016
- Levy Plan Development/Board Discussion: November 14, 2016
The purpose of this discussion is to identify if and how the board would like to proceed on the development of a replacement operations and maintenance levy.
As a point of information for the discussion a slide from the July Budget Workshop that shows how levy funds are spent has been included for board review.
